It was a mad race to the finish to transform our second bedroom from "beast" to "beauty" on HGTV Flipping The Block! For just under $2500 and in 3 days we created a young, fresh and bold bedroom that will appeal to a young teen as well as the fun-spirited adult. Since we did a more "grown up" look for the master bedroom we decided to design something with a younger feel that still made sense with the rest of the home. We took advantage of an empty nook by creating custom built in shelves that offer a place for the TV, a desk area and plenty of storage above. Are you brave enough to paint a wall tarragon orange?? Well we did because we wanted it to stand out and make a bold statement! TIP: If using a bright color for an accent wall I recommend painting the walls and shelves the same color to achieve a look that's bold but not busy - that would just be too much! Team Red also saved some $$$ by repurposing a fence gate to create a reclaimed wood, low profile headboard. If orange is not your color of choice you can simply choose one that is - that's the beauty of this design! The white side tables, neutral wall paint color, crisp white curtains and reclaimed wood headboard will work beautifully with any color choice!
